NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs | Age: 53 | Specialty: Interrogation | FC: Mark Harmon | Taken
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs is a 53-year-old widower and retired Marine sniper, and presently works as the head of the NCIS Major Case Response Team stationed at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. In 1976 Gibbs left Stillwater and joined the Marines, while at the same time began a relationship with a local girl named Shannon Fielding, who was to become his wife in 1980. The couple had a daughter, Kelly in 1982, not long after which the family moved to California when Jethro was transferred to a different marine base. Shannon and Kelly were later murdered when Shannon agreed to testify against a Mexican drug cartel in connectiong with a murder she witnessed. Gibbs has worked at NCIS for nearly two decades. He joined NCIS (then the NIS) in 1992 as a Junior Agent. He was typically referred to by his boss, Michael “Mike” Franks, as “Probie” or “Gunny”, a reference to his military rank of Gunnery Sergeant, something that continues to this day. Gibbs rose through the ranks until he was put in charge of the Major Case Response Team. He is often referred to as “Boss” or other humorous variations thereof by the members of his team. He is known for his own set of “rules” that deal with his own brand of justice.
